Analysis of Mixed Steel and Concrete Structures
for Tunnel Arches |
|
|
|
Within the field of civil engineering, besides
traditional structures, whether these be of steel, concrete or
mixed, problems may arise in which a more detailed simulation
is needed.
In the case presented here, not only is the entrance arch to the
tunnel verified structurally, but also the process of burying
said arch is simulated. On the basis of a prior model, the ground
pressures are determined in the different phases of the process.
These pressures are translated to a detailed model of the arch,
which by means of linear approximations determines which zones
of concrete are effective and which work in a cracked situation,
thus not contributing to the strength of the whole.
This analysis took into account the presence of steel rebars,
contacts in the interfaces between ground and arch, etc.. |
