Simulation of Mechanical Fatigue Testing
of Automotive Components |
|
|
|
In this project, simulation by means of the method
of finite elements was used to predict the in-service behaviour
of automotive components, as well as the variation in said behaviour
as the result of small modifications carried out in the geometry
of the components.
Detailed modelling (structured mesh), together with the use of
contacts between parts, allowed a rigorous analysis of the assembly
to be obtained. A fatigue testing tool was subsequently developed
to predict the number of permissible working cycles of the part.
We are currently working at NATEC Ingenieros on the continual
improvement of the tools developed in this field, extending their
application to the analysis of accumulative damage and the prediction
of the working life of products. |
